XX edition of the Cinema Giovane Award: focus on the emerging talent of Italian cinema
A new edition of the award dedicated to young Italian cinema talents.
The XX edition of the Cinema Giovane Award, promoted by the Calabria Film Commission Foundation and the Calabria Region, with the collaboration of the City of Lamezia Terme and the support of the MIC, will take place from 29 November to 3 December 2023, in Lamezia Terme.
The event, which aims to enhance and promote the new generation of Italian filmmakers, will include screenings, meetings, workshops, and masterclasses, with a particular focus on the theme of "Emerging Talent".
An international jury of experts will award 12,000 euros in cash prizes.
The program of the XX edition of the Cinema Giovane Award will be divided into two main sections: the "Concorso lungometraggi" (Feature Film Competition) and the "Concorso cortometraggi" (Short Film Competition). The first section will be dedicated to feature films directed by emerging Italian directors, while the second section will be dedicated to short films. The international jury of experts will award 12,000 euros in cash prizes, divided among the winners of the two competitions.
In addition to the competitions, the XX edition of the Cinema Giovane Award will also include a series of special events, including masterclasses and workshops held by renowned filmmakers and industry professionals. The program will also include a retrospective dedicated to the work of a young Italian director, and a series of screenings of films by emerging Italian filmmakers.
The award ceremony will be held on December 3, 2023, at the Cinema Teatro Grandinetti in Lamezia Terme.
